OUR MISSION

"...To Establish and maintain desirable working conditions and thus providing for themselves and their families that measure of comfort, happiness, and security to which every citizen is entitled in return for his labor, from a deep sense of pride in our trade, to give a fair day's work for a fair day's pay."

Our Local Union 38 Encompasses the New York Counties of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester, and Connecticut Counties of Fairfield and Litchfield.

Our union is an affiliate of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, an International labor Union with memberships also in the AFL-CIO along with the Canadian Labor Council.

Our elected officials assist our members in obtaining employment and work closely with the Apprentice and Journeyman programs, to help them throughout their education. Our highly trained instructors, most of them are recruited from our local contractors, enjoy teaching the up to date skills needed for your training needs. Being a member of our Local Union 38 makes you part of highly trained group of people, who look out for each other on and off the job. The union bargains collectively for all its members and provides Health Care Benefits, Good Wages with regular increases, and an Excellent Retirement Portfolio.
